TUBE MILL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY
The Tube Mill Maintenance Technician will conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise, and perform repairs as necessary to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. This position reports to the Tube Mill Maintenance Manager or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position is located in North Jackson, OH and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM and Saturday through Sunday from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Saturday) and 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Sunday) local time. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 5%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes repairs, modifications, installations, testing, and calibration of assemblies and systems on the manufacturing floor.
Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and improves the efficiency of production machines.
Discusses malfunctions and machine operation variations with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance team members to diagnose problems and repair machines.
Participates in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation trouble shooting.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment, examines defective parts to detect imperfections and install new or repaired parts.
Trouble shoots and repairs bearings, seals, hydraulics, pneumatics, and clutches.
Performs preventative maintenance and calibration using applicable SOP and work instructions.
Works in a safe manner and proactively addresses safety issues.
Demonstrates ability to operate machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment.
Possesses an operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Demonstrates ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
Possesses basic troubleshooting experience and proven skills in machine repair, gear boxes, and a variety of pumps
Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
Welding, machining and fabrication experience a plus.
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of Millwright / Maintenance Tech experience needed.
Millwright Journeyman’s card (preferred)
Duties encompass preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, modifications of manufacturing equipment.
Completion of preventative maintenance work orders as per the PM schedule, complete and document information on the PM outlining completion or additional work and materials required to complete the PM.
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures and ensure all equipment is properly guarded and operating in a safe manner.
Participate in department team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facility, human resources and health and safety issues. Maximize equipment uptime, minimize equipment breakdowns.
Effective feedback on equipment after or during PM or breakdowns. Proper spare
part or replacement material ordering.

Handling and Moving Objects: Requires the ability to use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and move materials manually or with equipment.
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. is essential for material handling and other tasks.
Physical Activity: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move hands, or hands together with arms, to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects is necessary for controlling machines and handling tools.
Vision: Close and distance vision are crucial, along with depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors, for navigating and operating the equipment safetly.
Sitting/Standing/Walking: The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time during the shift.
Flexibility: Bending, stooping, twisting, and crouching may be required for tasks like inspecting equipment, or navigating tight spaces.
Reaching: Using arms to reach for controls and materials is a regular part of the job.
